How to Help
There are many ways to contribute to Alexander Adaire K-8 via Friends of Adaire! In addition to the invaluable gift of time our volunteers make in the classroom and in the community, we fundraise to further the excellent education at Adaire.
  • Support our Annual Fund
  • Make a general donation via Venmo. We use these funds to support teacher requests and other needs for the students, faculty, or volunteers at any given time
  • Attend an event - we host multiple happy hours and other events throughout the year that raise funds for projects around the school

Friends of Adaire seeks to enlist the support of neighbors, businesses, organizations and community members to enhance the education at Adaire. We fundraise to support the priorities identified by Friends of Adaire, the SAC, and  Principal Anna Jenkins and we recruit volunteers to help Adaire in a variety of ways. Join us!

Friends of Adaire are helping to connect volunteers to the students and teachers who can use their help! Here's what one volunteer has to say about her experience!
After learning about all the great things going on at Adaire at last June's end of year meet and greet with Principal Jenkins, I wanted to figure out how I could contribute to the great things happening in the school.  I reached out to Principal Jenkins, we discussed my interests and experience, and she connected me with 7th grade teachers Mr. McGeehan and Dr. Long. The teachers identified a small group of students who could use a bit more attention and reading practice and I meet with them once weekly to practice reading.  The teachers provided some resources to use to find appropriate readings for the tutoring sessions. The students and teachers have been great and they deserve more time than I can give. Adaire is welcoming to volunteers with all backgrounds. The first step toward making positive impact at Adaire is connecting and finding where your time and talent can be put to use for our school.
-- Megan Rooney, Adaire volunteer
